This exercise helps you to practice awareness of sensations, feelings and urges and to watch your thoughts. The practice of mindful acceptance helps you to observe and accept emotions rather than immediately reacting to them. It doesn’t matter what ‘mood’ you are in and whether or not an intense emotion is activated. Daily practice in all kinds of emotional states will strengthen your capacity to use mindful acceptance when you are feeling activated, distressed or emotionally triggered.
